Introducing the new PixelGroovy.com
Hey everyone,
A month overdue but I’ve finally released Pixel Groovy version 2.0. Here are some of the new changes:
- Improved site look. Not just the ascetics of the site, but the ability to edit you profile on the fly without a page refresh. Expanding and collapse categories.
- New Tutorial Categories: include Linux, HTML, Office Programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook). Each category is now in its own parent category so its a lot easier to find. The sidebar uses moo.fx so users can navigate to a category quickly.
- Friends. Be able to track your friends and what they groove.
- Grooving a tutorial is as easy as flicking a switch. Find a tutorial you like, click on the switch and it will flick up to indicate you’ve grooved the tutorial.
- Pixel Groovy in IE finally now looks the same as it would in any other browser.
I have a lot of new stuff to roll out in the upcoming weeks and months ahead. In fact I have so many new changes and additions I want to make, I’m thinking of this release as almost a preview of things to come. If I were to use web 2.0 terms to describe this, I’d call it beta but I hate that term. I wanted to get some things out now because I promised to get things rolling back in November. It will also allow me to slowly improve the site slowly. There were submission problems, but I was alerted to them quickly and everything should be fine with that. If you find any bugs please let me know so I can fix them.
If you would, leave some feedback in the comments. I would really appreciate it.
Edit: I’ve heard about Safari problems with the sidebar. I’ll fix that over the weekend.
Edit 2: The RSS feeds are now fixed and there is a link to each rss feed at the header of each page.

I’m really liking the changes - definitely a nice improvement, very smooth.
If I may make a suggestion or at least raise the question. Could the little application icon be included with each entry to make it easier to identify what the tip is for?

Hi,
first off, kudo’s for the design, it looks great and it is a big improvment from your original design.
To be honest the first design turned me off in the end. I submitted 80 tutorials before i go tfed up with it all (my rank is still #2 after all this time, surprised me a bit).
At the moment work got me tied to much to again start submitting but i will try to get back as soon as i can.
Only thing i can say for now i good job and keep th egood things comming.
